The thought occurred to me one wintry day

what if everything I believed today

just up and disappeared and in a way

became only something dying to stay.

Well I didn’t really believe a word

in fact I wish now it had been inferred

rather than making me want a preferred

outcome that to others seemed so absurd.

Stand alone on the pavement and then sigh

watch how others around you just stroll by.

Makes people want to sort of have a cry

when in the shadows we watch spirits die.

Lost so deep in my head my argument

seems invalid saying just what I meant.
