When I Throw Stones

I make sure the target knows

my aim is to suggest,

I want to avoid any misperception,

my aim is clear,

I intend to hurt you,

long before you can even conceptualize

a reason

for retaliation.

My aim,

is a disappointing reality

of how far I’ve come,

or gone,

beyond the nature of forgiveness.

When I throw stones,

I expect the recipient to understand shame,

for my whole purpose in life,

is to suggest how much better my own life is,

or how much more clear is my aim.

I want to catch you off guard,

how else might I enjoy pain,

your pain, your misery at the strength of my own …

weakness.
