Self Indulgence

I do get scared sometimes,

wondering what will be next.

There is no desire to upset

anyone, any more, any way.

Just a feeling of connectedness,

seems so far out of my reach.

Oh there is that unconditional

fortune of a family’s truth.

Outside of my normalcy,

is a world waiting and wanting.

I’ll travel a back road for now,

feels more reassuring to me.
