Here I will focus the writing on poetry and commentary.

You told us you could do anything,

gun someone down on the streets of Manhattan,

become pro war to put a smear on the Nobel,

create an abolishment of our voting privileges,

deny any responsibility for your racist personality.

The president has the privilege of executive orders.

He has swiftly destroyed governmental icons.

Everything he does is condoned and soon forgotten.

But the damage is done, we are all so troubled.

His ignorance makes me cringe to watch the news.

His latest criminal moment destroys the Obamas.

We know, I’ll give him no prizes for ignorance.

Over the years, he’s had plenty of moments,

Somehow a walk around exists in complicity.

We’re struggling far beyond an element of politics.

In this current demise, I fear for our friends.

They’re unable to leave their homes. In America.

Action, old friend. Don’t give in and give up to complacency all the time. Even rhetorically and metaphorically rise up!

I agree with your sentiment. My response is sometimes impulse because I watch so much negative energy poured into our current society, administration, children, families – I could go on. I recognize the importance of keeping our voices heard and waking people up as the polls loom ahead.

Nothing touches him? Have you tried? Passivity is a quiet walk into oblivion.

Protests will raise consciousness, no question about it. I want it faster – namely – before he guts the Kennedy Center with his ridiculous reach.

If we could, I would favor the idea.

Why can’t we form our own Ignoble Prize committee and give Trump the prize for violence?

aquietwalk, a thoughtful poem there, and I fully understand your frustration regarding the current US Administration. It is an absolute disaster, and I am afraid that, unfortunately, the fault lies with the general public. Roughly a third did not vote at the last federal election. Their vote could have completely changed the final result, and the current problem would not exist. As much as I hate to say it, the country got what it deserved.

I am completely amazed that a country with some 330,000,000 residents cannot find a few decent candidates for President. I think it says something about the whole ethos, including educational standards and subject matters. Sorry to say this, but the horse has bolted, and I am not sure you will be able to get it back in the stable.

I don’t know if I told you this before, but I lived in California for seven years, so I do have feelings for the place. There are reasons I don’t live there anymore, as the current problems clearly developed from shortly after the Second World War to what you have today. I could see it in 1963.

All the best, and, if you like, take all of the above with a grain of salt! It is just me and my rantings.
