Knowing Truth

When caught in a charade

it’s easy to come off as capable.

What is more difficult in the moment,

is letting people realize the pain.

“I’m not a victim,” I yelled out loud.

There really is this feeling I get,

causes me only a shadowy film

of masking emotion, my mystery.

Life really does contain speed bumps

that can’t always be brushed aside.

I wake up sometimes in the morning,

with real regrets, flooding confusion.

I really am afraid of myself sometimes.

It’s okay, I’ve been ‘told’ to stop worrying.

  1. aquietwalk,

Reading your posts recently has been quite revealing about your current thought processes.

While I understand that things are not going well in your life right now, perhaps I can be of some assistance.

A few thoughts on your last post entitled, “Knowing Truth”. I am interested in knowing where this title originated and what it means to you.
The operative words that stand out in this piece include words such as “emotion, charade, pain, victim, regrets, confusion and afraid”. That adds up to quite a lot of feelings to deal with.
I think talking about them, even online, may be helpful.

Your poems are no doubt cathartic, and hopefully, you feel better after writing and publishing them. Perhaps you could also find someone in your world to share your thoughts with, as I am sure you would appreciate that. I know that finding someone empathetic in such a situation is not easy, but the extra effort to find the right person can prove beneficial.

If I can be of any help, don’t hesitate to respond.

    Regards, Phil

    1. Thanks Phil, I appreciate your insight. Lately, I think I am trying to dive into some of the emotions I carry around with me. My hope is that it might resonate with people that go through similar feelings, outlooks. In my writing I’ve sometimes been afraid to dive in. I’m doing that now while I’m still wondering if it really is poetry or expression of my emotions. Thanks again.
