If I could piece together the future,

perhaps then,

would I be less compelled

to want,

for that is always a central indicator,

when we meet a challenge,

we talk,

we suggest,

we analyze,

we become grateful and curious and alive,

the wondrous nature of time conveys our truths.

 

If I could piece together the future,

I wonder what it is I might choose,

an indicator,

some value, a quest, a responsive reaction to time,

I often imagine just that reality,

whether I might compel to become the solution,

or add more gravity,

to the vanity of man.

 

If I could piece together the future,

would it be as simple,

the reliance upon chance,

the knowledge we hold of goodness,

the beauty of romance,

would all these treasures of the mind,

become our stable course,

could we,

might our lives find inner peace with time.

 

If I could piece together time in our future,

would then escape no longer be in fashion.
