Independence Day

It means,

We can all be the change,

Already the celebration has begun,

The world revolves around our energy.

Boom!

A spectacular moment,

The mind has such a funny wealth

Of immediate satisfaction – speak realism.

Children play

Their hearts are pure as gold,

Love each other; look in their eyes,

Only in the moment and realize their grace.

I watched the world

Today in backyards, riversides,

Boat launches and party tents until

My heart was filled with love’s wonder.

Inside the sun’s ray,

Watch the rainbow’s pastel antics

Glance outside and don’t forget to bring

The flag …

I’m American,

Yet I am so many other

Pieces of your life and my own

We all stand together, the same way.

In the 60’s

She put a flower in the barrel,

The cop smiled, probably held tear,

She was a pretty young girl, peaceful eyes.

I wonder

How many of our friends

Standing together in back yard pools,

Will take a moment to recognize freedom.

The next day,

When the layers of a gala

Subside, we wake, we begin to clean,

The trash* in the yard will need to go away.

Live green baby,

We are planets together now,

Sure there is a contingent of America

Lived here last night, will again tomorrow.

In the moonlight,

Look inside each other’s eyes,

There is a similar motive beyond you,

Carries the weight of us all, we can be one.

It means,

We can all be the change,

Already the celebration has begun,

The world revolves around our energy.
