If I Speak

I do fear that once

the light will begin to fade

when if then said

what matters little

anymore.

What if

a reaction to pain

becomes just that shallow

disclosure,

that when in a sudden panic

we would speak of tear,

what if then,

there was not

a listening ear.

If while we make a decision

share our heartfelt

misery,

would then that opened door

deceit in willful

agony.

Would might our lives

in their trivialized form,

would we be complete

our soul

love as we have been told,

would there be reason enough

reason enough would be the fool,

in holding back the truth.
