In coffeeshops, while listening to music, traveling

Watership Down by Richard Adams; The Awakening by Kate Chopin; The Dead by James Joyce

8. What kind of music do you like and do you listen to music when you write?

A fairly eclectic assortment from the Beatles to Classical to Pink Floyd to John Prine to Linda Ronstadt …

9. Do you have other creative outlets that you do?

I direct high school theatre

10. What is your favorite thing to do other than writing?

Travel with my family to a cabin in the north-woods. I end up writing there a lot.

11. What is your favorite book?

Oh you mean that other favorite book? I suppose it would have to be The Complete Works of Emily Dickinson, if there is a title – otherwise, I like that other Complete Works as well – Shakespeare.
