The Library (frosty eyes)

We know

were kind eyes

for a life did I unfold a passion

years later

could a gift a sudden

once then

did we kiss to hold and know

life would live

well beyond our years

when then

this might be a sudden

in eyes, in heart, in soul

our mind’s eye

could now we know,

would we still …

When Wandering Headlights Weep

In picture windows across the world,

they watch, they stare, they sometimes

they’re the souls left alone to wonder,

watching the headlights streamline by,

like a slow motion ray of long wound

catapults of energy,

sweeping past the imagination

without waiting wanderers,

perhaps ne’er a question of why.

We all might wish to have that moment,

a second of their time,

screeching tires and suddenly

out the door, a person,

a human being assuredly defines the rapid

departure of any possibility

defining the time

we just watched sweep past our reality.

Yet for that next few hours,

she will, he might, and they’ll return,

to their security,

the picture window,

observing the reality with swift purpose,

motion by,

as if to recognize

there is no one waiting nearby,

only everyone lays ahead,

in the distance,

there’s the real reason why.

While Eyes Were Walking

So many waves of opportunity

we stepped inside without knowing

only hopeful,

perhaps somewhere, sometime,

we might,

we could possibly

land here.

There were smiles all around,

we wondered in silence if it was real,

could this be

this way that provided a happy

a place to stay,

stand near.

Well I took a chance and noticed

you stood nearby me to, we were together,

create we did,

a memory to serve our time,

in this place in life,

sans fear.

I do know I will recall this time,

we danced the fire of magic in sphere,

circling our lives,

stand before a stage of peer,

we can return here anytime

time is dear.

If I Told You …

A long time ago I recall

I wasn’t so very tall

While the world passed

me by I felt I might ask

Do we all walk around

while similarly frowned

upon by those the others,

‘Oh if I had my druthers’

I’ve looked for a spaceship

traveling alone in silent slip

yet the skies always remain

a singular thoughtful domain

I might suggest a newer route

one chock full with little doubt

I wanted only to know a way

to find happiness in a day.

While the world does truly pass me by

I wonder when it is I might finally ask why

Five Days, Five Photos: Day One – On Diversity

Hi everyone, I’m starting this challenge as inspired by an intriguing blogger – dancing echoes – who has provided much interest with her writing over the few months I have encountered her. Lately I have been looking for some trigger to get my writing back in motion. My work has seemed rather stale, and maybe this is the push I need to get my ideas flowing again. I’m choosing ‘Diversity’ as my caveat as that is of fundamental interest to me these days … the photoshop work below is that of Rebecca Moore – I credit her picture below, takes you directly to her site …

We wonder about sibling rivalry,

who bests the other with a glance,

a posture,

a family friend who prefers the other,

not me,

maybe you,

we can never really know, yet in a picture,

we might wonder why.

They both look quite endearing,

they are children,

the vulnerable souls,

yet we’re speaking about more tonight.

We talk of a new society,

a grouping of souls that get along,

understand one another,

or at least, at the very least,

they respect one another.

Yet when I glance at these two siblings,

the picture it suggests,

is one is there, in the forefront,

probably always has been,

and the other,

the young man we won’t know again in ten years,

well he might just be,

wondering how she became that focal point …

from that day on.

There’s my day one. I hope I did it right … I now nominate Souldier Girl and will see you tomorrow with my second installment …
