When might one isolate,
patterns of social expectation
would suggest
only when we become tired.
That exhaustion we know
lays us out for the day.
When time feels an endless
saga of ill fitting memory,
Then is when we might have
fantasy of letting go.
In contrast, that is the time
to live out our lives well.
It’s when the fear of now,
becomes a foundation of
legacy we can count upon.
As life would count the years
ahead, so might we pray.
