Solace

There are times when a memory will erase confidence,

The small moments, the easy recall can set the tone,

so once in a while we can find a soothing peace of mind.

In that moment when we remember something we love,

we can easily forget to appreciate its innocence.

Wrapped up in what we can never control in our lives,

We find any nuance, an afterthought can silence a vibe.

One time in life, we would like to grasp authenticity,

knowing a prescribed ideal isn’t a demonstrated goal.

Life is designed to be worthy of a positive reflection

on all the experiences we can achieve in a lifetime.

When our happiness is tied to those elements of grief,

we do seem driven by the thoughts that bury our will.

Picture a snowfall with branches gently laden with ice,

In a sunrise a model of fragility will become spectacular.

Simple is the life we lead, silence seeking solace.
