Seeking A Kindness in Minneapolis

A fresh snow is falling

Leaving layers of peace,

Letting it cover the grief,

The fear that lines our streets.

Underneath is a pink haze,

A symbol of lost freedoms.

People walk slowly, carefully,

Now hiding cells and whistles.

A fear has overcome the city,

And leadership is pandering,

Reactions remain alone.

I’ll watch the snow tonight

And wish our only compassion.

Like sledding favorite hills,

Climbing slopes together.

I’ll fear the insurrection,

Feels far too familiar.

A comforting blanket tonight,

Life holds a similar kindness.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
