A Stolen Life

Struggling to make this whole thing feel okay

News we depend upon,

many different faces

In each other’s sentiment

a victim lays dead

Kids are carrying banners that bleed

a request for justice

in the eyes of a child

I’m an old man,

I don’t know how to react.

I’m an angry old man.

Now I just want to cry

Talk to me about justice

I’ll yell out.

I can’t stand society right now,

blaming each other and not ourselves.

Our human condition is overwhelmed,

praying for some compassion

a solution,

hard questions,

real answers

We’re just pissed and emotional.

She was trying to live her life.

_

One side will cast blame,

the other pleads justice.

The bleeding goes on.

While she lays dead,

her life,

steel tables.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
