Sitting In The Dark

Found myself contemplating well everything,

While the lights began to dim just after midnight.

My thoughts were really racing tonight,

After seeing a concert of one of my favorite writers.

It’s fun to gyrate our way around politics.

But fighting with the truth can’t always be fun,

There has to be some type of pain endured.

When we sacrifice our ideals we feel naked In the eyes

of a society, expecting only of themselves.

Seems all the promises we made in our lives,

Come to the surface when forced to imagine this life.

We’d really like to pretend everything is always the same,

When in truth suddenly we have isolated ourselves.

It is well after the skies begin to light our night

With a tapestry of childhood constellations meant

To brighten up the lives of those who lag behind,

Or perhaps they just want to ease through life,

alone.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
