I’m up late tonight,
Carrying the burden of my
Slow and emanating foggy exterior.
I’ve let all the lights dim,
Can only hear my puppy finding her comfortable spot
On the upholstery, that is really just an old couch.
She finds it on her own every night,
Waiting for me to go to bed.
I’m up late tonight,
Imagining what life really is
When we find harmony in our lives.
It’s black now except the light of my computer,
Sort of like burning two candles I suppose,
Though I’ve failed to light mine for years.
Whenever I think of these things,
It is usually too late and though I protest
I will remember them, I soon forget.
I received a message
From a special friend tonight,
Helped me realize
there can be kindness wherever we turn.
Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
