I’m Serious

“I love the smell of deportations in the morning …”

Is this something a president says? The POTUS? How embarrassing it is to be a citizen of a country that is being run by a small minded backyard moron. Who can actually look at that statement and not feel a fear of helplessness for this person’s death-grip on our country? Is this tough guy stuff? Are there people out there who can honestly say a statement like that gives them a sense of security as a citizen of the United States? Whatever happened to decorum? How long can this really go on? Seriously.

I woke up this morning to that quote by 47 and I had to take a moment to let it set in. I couldn’t believe he could get away with it at all, but frankly I haven’t any faith in anything he does being confronted for consequence as it relates to the safety of our country. Just minutes ago, I saw a headline about a huge drone strike in Ukraine, with the White House administration actively cutting ties with the mediation. Over a week ago, 47 executed an order to murder a boatload of suspected drug traffickers from Venezuela Shortly after that Venezuela sent three war planes over the United States ships stationed off their shoreline.

When do the bombs start to drop or am I just being punked by the full moon outside affecting my psychic energy. I’m actually paranoid, and cannot watch the news without a huge feeling of anxiety with every news story regarding our country’s being held hostage by a megalomaniac. I really don’t know how it will end but I am pretty sure something is going to break, and as much as he is rewriting history at the present, the damage feels horrific.

I’m not meaning to catastrophize. I can’t help feeling what I do when it continues to be reframed in the daily news. It used to feel comic the way he behaved in society during the elections. In person now with all the power he has it has become a nightmare. I cannot believe anyone looking at his actions wouldn’t feel the same way. How do we support a madman?

So tonight, I’m watching football and just hanging out with my favorite companion. My dog, she is my rock right now, all my attention goes to her. I’m afraid to hear the news when it breaks on tv and in the newspaper. I’m nervous that I’m waiting for something awful to happen. I’m anxious. I pray for our country and the freedom we have learned to live with being destroyed and reshaped in the world we have known all of our lives.

I’m serious.

  1. aquietwalk,

I appreciate your comments on the political situation in your part of the world. While I live in Australia, it is just as astounding and concerning.
It is difficult to understand the mentality of those who initially voted for him, and even more so, those who continue to support him. Time will tell as to the outcome
as I don’t think he is very well – you can see it on his face at times.

    In the meantime, stay strong!

    Regards, Phil
