Scenes of Resilience
Though so close
my skin could feel the walls
I walked toward the wood
just beyond layers
of a solemn recall.
I wanted to stay,
just that time deemed
it necessary to move
so the silence and light
gave me reason
to seek an end.
I had taken this walk
another time,
a couple of afternoons,
more reflective nights.
They played
passions in my heart
lost in the myths of love.
Somewhere in the mix
I had discovered
that peace would frame
our need to be content.
