Lives We Lead

Oh, for the valuable speed bump,

when our world seems stilted

by outcomes meant to be hurtful.

Standing by the side of the road

becomes a metaphor one afternoon,

when the muddied pool of melting

snow covered me with the splash

of a moving car, drivers having fun.

It’s those spaces in our mind,

force filled with optimism,

we slowly crawl out of the mire

find peace and live with ourselves.

When once I feel everything is out

of my reach. Then I smile.

Life becomes livable again.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
