Time To Be Happy

What a volume of dismay,

flowing like a surge in the river,

taking control,

refusing to change course.

It seems pretty easy to do,

this focus upon the peril,

rather than writing about the

profound effect of resilience.

Feeling the noose around my neck,

sometimes easier than loosening up

that singular rope.

That’s all it is, tightening with each

revelation of complete helplessness.

Perhaps in the morning,

that sunlight will be effective.

In the silence of the moment,

let beauty fill my heart and soul.
