I’m Aging

My body moves differently.

A challenge with a pants leg

In the morning, readying myself.

I do it naturally,

Struggle or not I get it done.

Then it’s the shoes.

Sometimes I use a lean

Or get lucky on the first try.

All my shoes are step in now,

Tend to shy away from

Tying laces.

Sitting here looking at my dog,

Knowing she needs a walk

Or just wants to go to bed.

I’ll figure that out in a minute,

Once I finish pulling on

my favorite sweatshirt.

I’m older now I suppose,

Yet still the same kid …

I worry.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
