Left everything behind,

The worries of yesterday,

Knowing thoughts of tomorrow,

The callous nature of life,

The loss of love in my world.

These are all really simple things

everyone knows. I once thought 

the world was completely 

out of my hands. 

Now I know that’s too easy.

~

I have to live every day 

of my life in the light 

of what is right. 

Even if on occasion, 

I’d be happier misled.

~

I suppose it’s easy to wonder, 

it at least takes the edge off.

It’s like taking a day off when

everything seems askew.

I’ll rather enjoy today… ‘than.’
