We held smiles with each other,

A pause in all of our days behind,

To listen to stories, told again and again,

Still matters to me, we would say to each other,

As smiles grew again, laughs easily found,

And the kids,

The stream of kids running around chasing

Each other with endless energy,

Adults suddenly forget they too,

Not so long ago,

And now today we all need to smile.

It’s all we remember 

To know one another,

Feel each other’s truths,

Our passions,

Our loves,

Our innocence in the years we

Will we love to
