There’s Little Peace In Regrets

Trying to shuffle the deck,

Same cards just being played,

Land a little differently,

Like life, a bunch of puzzles.

Trying to outlive the odds,

They just like to hang around,

Quiet reminders of vulnerable

Realities that do lay about.

These misses, these failures,

Seems a mirror is always near,

Holding court with silent reminders.

Listening to the Eagles sing

About regrets, they really swoon,

And the lights start to dim,

Another night without a fire.

Seems I’ll just go to sleep now,

Hopeful morning they say,

Lay ahead. just look ahead.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
