What Is It He Wants?

Every day is the same challenge,

Pieces of life in knots,

Always needing to be freed,

One stretch at a time.

Remember when it would last

Into the next morning,

Everything happened that

Helped you not have to care.

Seems this age thing,

Brings everything close.

A thoughtful serenade could

Leave my heart miles behind.

I’m wanting to step off the ledge,

The journey is so tiresome,

Same old aches and pains,

And the body hurts all day long.

But the unaware nearby,

Won’t feel the tension,

Or have any kind of a clue,

Only walks right by,

Like nothing matters in the moment.

Like a chronic cough, a winter storm,

Keeps my dog awake nearby,

And I look in her eyes

I suppose asking for answers.

She only smiles and wags her tail.

Please I would love you to share words, suggestions …
