Staring Away From Here

When here is not really there,

a further apart away,

a setting unattainable

nearby felt readily available

only we aren’t inside the bubble,

the space

the real race

becomes a necessary embrace

one unwilling to be endured

by any self-assured

witness to survival,

oh that is natural

to imagine such a trivial

loss of words,

those visualize, they call the absurds

people who imagine

staying nearby will be helpful

rather instead than suggested rueful.
