When Time Gives In

I know there are deadlines,

places we need to respond to in earnest.

I realize when the light of day,

calls for a public spectacle

there seems always a need to show

a facade that society finds acceptable

What if one day,

when while the sun rose,

a decision made

prevented a better solution.

What if instead,

we all chose to say,

the truth of the matter.
