Selfish

I wanted to find a reason

to explore all options.

I listened to the speaker layout

a plan to help everyone.

I heard when people described

selfless actions.

I walked home curious and sad

wondering how to give.

I wondered whether or not my

giving was to satisfy me

or you – is there a place where we

can recall the reason to begin.

I wonder about time, their reaction,

and then I come to terms with hope.
