The Poet Says Good Night

though nearly impossible,

words will rest for a time,

while the mind,

filled with irony, that imagery

allows words to create a motion,

perhaps some emotion on a page,

will need to settle for awhile,

for this is only a hobby.

I do rue the day I was taught the concept of

a hobby –

Why can’t everything be as real as we want it to be,

when we awaken a magical notion,

can’t we possibly just …

I’ll leave that for the next interpreter.
