I wonder

often

about words and their choices

where they land

the impact of an intonation

is it an impertinent notion

to ignore the impact

of a snide interpretation,

I’d like to be able to catch up

to every word I’ve used

ever brought you harm,

I would like you to know how life reveals

discomfort

in the most trivial manner in order to create the greatest

impression.

I listen for answers only to hear the silence

my wheels

fluid in motion a constant swirl to comprehend

what just happened

when did that last occur,

how might my life be different

had I begun my sentence with a less severe

need.
