Outside the sunlight is radiant
Arctic airs are doing battle
Stand for seconds and freeze
Like everyone
Each individual
There are no exceptions to Nature’s
Unbridled wrath
~
Why is it inside then
We do battle
With the human condition
How do our lives become entangled
In storms
That liken a tsunamis
When words misconstrued
Are brought to suggest
Attention is drawn by selfish needs
~
When a gale wind slams our skin
In sub-zero weather
There is no one around to say
Oh that wasn’t meant for your precious eyes
~
Yet while in-doors on a cool summer evening
If the semantics of need were to suggest otherwise
Storms brew madly
And the motion sickness
That permeates the air
Might shut down any forward motion
We ride it out
We withstand torrents
~
Stand close upon our own identified firm ground
Recognize the sparkling beauty of morning sunlight.
