Trapped deep inside
The air is tight with fear
A certain groove is gone
Imagine not seeing ahead or behind
Just sensing by touch
Cold damp skin
Echoing a voice to an unknown
Presence that reveals itself
Sheltered
~
A sudden twist might drop one
A direct hit hinted by the moisture
That danced across your forehead
Another dampens my hair
As I feel afraid of the darkness
Icicles are known to cling to sills
Awaiting the sunlight’s trigger
To release them
Straightaway
~
I’m lost inside a cavern of blues
Fearing a gauntlet of sorts
Wishing the shoe would drop
Yet wondering if it has
Will, might, descend with a wrath
I only want shelter
Yet the hollow arching sounds
Indicate so many mysteries
Alone
~
We do battle with our passions
Yet gravity allows us to feel the ground
Stalagmites steer us along a musty path
Enough to cling upon, rest a weary
Shoulder while waiting out the moment
Are we afraid of failing insecurities?
Our dreams grow while screaming inside
The sallow mystique; that humanity
Hallows
~
If we allow simple pain’s human condition to feel
